As you all know, I love my scroll saw and making wood art. I have been using the same scroll saw (my Dad’s) for the last 20 years. It’s an old Craftsman and it is perfect, reliable and an old friend.

I love playing around with new designs and ideas for various art projects with it. However, there was level of detail that I wanted in my wood art that I was unable to achieve on my scroll saw. This may be a me problem! I may not have the level of skill needed for those details on a scroll saw.
Either way, a few months ago Chris and I were talking about ways to expand my designs, and we talked about the fine details I would love to include but I couldn’t get the results on the scroll saw. We thought a laser cutter may work so we began researching various machines and what they offer.
It became clear I could get extreme details in my designs, and the entire design would be repeatable for anyone who bought our file. This was exciting, so we began the search for a laser machine.
We decided on the Creality Falcon 2 Pro 40W laser and bought it preowned from Facebook Marketplace in our area.

We spent the next few months designing and experimenting with new designs for the laser.
I hand draw all the designs and then create them in Procreate. Chris then converts my files to an SVG file and cuts the design on the laser.
We have found the laser user friendly, and the level of detail and consistency is incredible.
It has opened my creativity, and I am so excited for future designs.
